ToolNest is a free browser-based toolbox. Every tool runs on your device, so your data never touches a server.

What ToolNest is

A collection of free online utilities — formatters, converters, encoders, generators and calculators — that run entirely inside your browser.

No signup. No upload. No paywall. No account to create before you can use the thing you came for.

The one rule

Every tool on this site is client-side. When you paste a JWT, a JSON payload or an image into a tool here, that data is processed by JavaScript running on your machine and never transmitted anywhere.

This is a deliberate architectural constraint, not a feature we bolted on later. It means:

  • Your data cannot be leaked, logged or subpoenaed, because it never arrives
  • Results appear instantly, with no network round-trip
  • The tools are free, because there is no server cost to pass on
  • The site keeps working if the servers go down — it is static files

What is on the site

Developer tools — JSON formatter, JWT decoder, Base64 codec, regex tester, hash generator, UUID generator, HTML entity encoder, IPv4 converter.

Writing tools — word counter, diff checker, case converter, slug generator, Markdown preview, lorem ipsum generator.

Design tools — colour converter, CSS length unit converter.

Image tools — image compressor and resizer, QR code generator.

Security tools — password generator, hash generator.

Calculators — percentage, area and perimeter, date difference.

How it is built

Static HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript. No framework, no build tooling, no client-side runtime dependencies. Pages are generated from structured content files, so adding a tool means adding one file.

The whole site is a few hundred kilobytes and is served from a CDN edge cache.

Privacy, concretely

  • No analytics scripts that build a profile of you
  • No cookies set by this site
  • No local storage of your input
  • No third-party requests except for ads, if and when they are enabled

You can verify all of this: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool. If nothing is sent, the claim holds.

Advertising

This site may display ads. Ads are served by a third-party network, which means that network can set its own cookies and collect its own data — that is outside our control. We do not share your input with any third party, because your input never leaves your device in the first place.

Feedback

Found a bug, or want a tool that does not exist yet? Send a note to the address in the footer. Requests for specific tools get implemented first, because the most-requested tool is usually the one worth building.
